Bonus System: Keep'em or Lose'em?

My upcoming entry will be a discussion on whether corporate bonus payout should still be practiced by banks and financial firms. The popular belief is that the current recession we are experiencing is attributed to the 'every man for himself' system employed by these companies. As a result employees wanting to achieve bonuses will be encouraged to take greater risk in hope of attaining a greater payoff.

Therefore I will be discussing whether financial firms should start relying less on bonuses when it comes to compensating its employees.

To do this I feel it is necessary to have some type of understanding of the current economic crisis and financial system.

I hope this blog will help you understand this rather complex matter.

Enjoy!

  2. Good point Frank, I've changed the heading and also amended the intro. Thought it was necessary as the blog has also developed into an analysis of the whole economic crisis.
